A Jewish response to the fight for immigrant rights

When we see families in need or in danger, we are called by Judaism to respond. We pledge our support to families who are suffering because of unjust immigration laws: “You shall not wrong a stranger or oppress him, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt” (Exodus 22:20). “You shall not oppress a stranger, v’ atem yedahtem et nefesh hagehr — for you know the soul of the stranger, having yourselves been strangers in the land of Egypt” (Exodus 23:9).
